Little Things

This photo was taken during my 21st birthday celebration, and I have chosen it even though my quadriceps look elephantine and he is holding a can of beer, because it was clearly taken at a point in time when we were both overflowing with joy. I still remember how we were bustling around during the party, me talking to my different groups of friends and him making sure that our guests have food and are comfortable. We were near each other then, and it was one of my friends who had told us to take a photo together and she had refused to take no for an answer. So I strode towards him in my annoying pair of Jeffrey Campbell, and there you go.

In the midst of everything, my man was the one who had reminded me that I have a graduation ceremony to attend in a month's time. How so? When he had received a text from the government telling him that he has to serve the country in May, the first thing he did was to take a screenshot of it and send it to me. He sealed the deal when he exclaimed, (in texts, it can be inferred from shouty capitals) "HOLY SHIT! I'M GOING TO APPLY OFF ON THE 27TH!"

It is little things like this that make my heart swell that much bigger. No matter how busy we both are with our lives, no matter how many 30-second phone calls we make in the day, no matter how both of our feet drag at the end of each day, it is little things like this that keeps us going.

Thank you for loving me the way you do. I love you, my dearest one :')
